WELCOME! The area covered by the Barnsley & District Society of Change Ringers is the area within a 12 mile radius of
St Mary's parish church, Barnsley.
 
The object of the Society is the cultivation of the art of change ringing and the promotion of good fellowship among ringers.
 
Closed lead minor ringing (cartwheel) is encouraged and promoted by the Society but not to the exclusion  of other forms of ringing.

The Swaine Cup Contest held 10th September 2011 at Hoylandswaine. Congratulations to the winning band Kirkheaton.

Following the AGM a welcome to Mike Sheeran as our new Assistant Ringing Master and thanks to Richard Pagdin for his support as previous Assistant Ringing Master.

 

Members are reminded that annual subscriptions for 2011/2012 are now due. The subscription rate is £1 per an for each member.

 

Old Photographs of Handbell Bands 

The society has been asked if we can help in the search for old photographs of the Barnsley and Royston handbell bands. These are wanted for a publication on handbell ringing from 1855.
